How I Got Here...

I found myself in January 2018 preparing for my mother's death from a terminal brain tumor. Hours spent in the hospital, nursing home and then at home while she was on hospice I did the only thing I knew to keep myself sane - madly spun fibers, spent my time meandering the aisles of fabric and yarn stores selecting those elements I knew I would use in my outfit for her memorial service. Prior to this time, I had only handspun yarns and made them into small sculptures. This experience changed me in so many ways, the most profound was to lead me into the creation of an entire line of wearable art. I discovered that I could fuse my fibers and designs with powerful energies needed to help me through this event, giving me protection, strength, beauty and safety.  With her passing and no longer feeling anymore pull towards duty, I was freed up to live where I truly desired and pursue my passions...

I moved out west in the spring of 2018, sharing my time between Sedona, Arizona and Taos, New Mexico. Besides feeling a sense of major expansion and relief being free of East Coast crazy, I watched my artistic palette blossom - how I design, the forms and the colors I use.  My designs are profoundly influenced by this amazing move across country, one that I have wanted to do for over 10 years. Here it is easy for me to unearth treasures of vintage clothing and fibers from magical shops along with colorful, supple leathers from native trading posts.

My creations are well-suited for those that are bold, colorful and larger than life. My styles appear magnificently on those that are not afraid to be seen, who know who they are and enjoy making quite a splash out in the world.  Just like me!!!! xoxox

My Loves: Shopping at my favorite fiber, antique, consignment stores and native trading posts. Spending my time deliberately and sweetly. Creating new revolutionary theories (at least in my own mind) that some people are actually beginning to relate to and understand.  Seeing gorgeous, sweeping, majestic landscapes. Living in the wild west amongst magical, broad strokes of desert, mountains and pine trees. Connecting with people who have been intensely misunderstood and underappreciated, until I drop into their world. Creating my own reality. Creating beauty. Feeling love...

Short Bio, If You Were Wondering…

Marci Lebowitz, Fashion Stylist, Fiber Artiste and Fashionista is known for her super fun, funky, magical creations. She was born absolutely fascinated with fashion, fibers and color. Her mother described Marci as “coming out of my womb insisting on lace on her panties.” She has always had the vocabulary and perceptual reality of a fiber artist and now, lives it full-time.

You can find Marci perusing great consignment, thrift, yarn & fabric stores and western trading posts throughout New Mexico and Arizona or focused intensely in her studio. Her heightened intuitive and aesthetic sensibilities constantly draw her to great vintage finds and magnificent textiles. Marci boldly cuts and pastes and spins her materials, similar to the way children create, allowing the materials to constantly direct her custom designs and draw the wearers to her.

Those with a flair for bold, beautiful expression always find something magnificent in Marci’s costumery.  You are welcome into her magical world of beauty!
